It’s one of the places we choose to spend our free time and where we take friends who come to visit us. That’s why we recommend it to all our guests.

Framura is one of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages, and that alone is reason enough to visit: the historic center, consisting of four small villages perched along the hillside, has preserved the authenticity of traditional Ligurian villages, with their characteristic colorful facades and steep stairways winding through vegetable gardens and vineyards down to the sea.

Along the coast, you’ll find Il Porticciolo and the beaches of Torsei, Vallà, and Arena, which can be reached by walking along a spectacular boardwalk over the rocks, the Via del Mare. Access to all the beaches is free.

How do you get to Framura? On foot along the hillside trails, by train (an 8-minute ride, €2.20 one-way, one train per hour), or by car (about 35 minutes): the road offers scenic views but is quite winding, and once you arrive, finding parking isn’t always easy.

We recommend cycling there along the Maremonti bike path, which connects Levanto to Bonassola and Framura. The route is about 6 km long and winds through old train tunnels, offering spectacular views of the sea.

Once you reach the end of the bike path and have secured your bike with the provided lock, you can head down to the small harbor via the elevator or the staircase. The Framura Harbor is the perfect spot for budding fishermen armed with a net and for parents looking to enjoy an aperitif with a view of the sea.

If you don’t want to miss out on Framura’s historic center but don’t feel up to tackling a steep climb, we recommend taking the bus that departs from the station square (ticket price: €1.50; tickets can be purchased at the ticket machine in the waiting area or at the tourist information desk on the first platform). In just 10 minutes, you’ll arrive in Costa, Framura’s highest and most scenic village.

From there, you can walk down a series of stairways that connect the villages until you reach the sea (it will take about an hour without stopping).

From Costa, head down to Setta and Ravecca; among ancient towers and colorful houses, you can enjoy truly enchanting views of the sea. In Setta, I recommend an aperitif or dinner at the bar in the Piazzetta or at the deli
Le Cose Buone (true to its name!), which offers traditional Ligurian dishes to enjoy outdoors on the terrace across the way, surrounded by trees and with a view of the local church. Parents can relax over dinner while the kids run free through the village (there are no cars) discovering countless hidden corners—fun for the whole family!

From Ravecca, the road descends to Anzo and finally to the sea.

The historic center will amaze you with its tranquility (Framura is less well-known than the Cinque Terre but just as beautiful) and the authentic atmosphere you can feel around every corner.

There are plenty of other things to do in Framura, such as wine tastings in the vineyards, e-bike tours, boat trips, stand-up paddleboarding, or jet-skiing (which can be rented at the Porticciolo).

Finally, we’d like to highlight the summer events calendar, which is carefully curated and packed with activities (theater, literature, film, and music). The summer concludes with the Festa del Turista (the last Saturday in August), a walking dinner through the streets and small squares of the historic center, where you can sample traditional Ligurian dishes at each stop.

[30,33

post-5035","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-surroundings","category-with-children
["GET
